![]() "Project X," the movie about a high school party that spirals out of control, has a big fan in a Farmington Hills, MI High School student with a twitter account. Would-be ultimate party thrower "Mikey" almost pulled off his own ultimate party in a foreclosed house on Briarwyke Drive in Farmington Hills. The tweet invite he sent out about a Project X-style party included the home’s address and spread through Twitter to the point of one new message each second; teens from Ohio, New York and Arizona planned to attend the shindig. Then ten squad cars showed up prompting Mikey’s father, Goran Vasovski, to show up and cancel Mikey's dreams. “They want to know if I’m going to ground him, beat him. I’m going to talk to him and make sure he understands what the Internet can do," Vasovski said. UPDATE: Mikey got an internship offer (paid!) from the car blog Jalopnik. Surely his dad can't ground him now! |

"Working on a building site was pretty hard. Now I've got a manager, life's good," he said. The manager, celebrity agent Max Markson, said: "He did a great party in the wrong place."We're going to put on a great party in the right place."
Mr Delaney had originally hoped to keep the party a secret from his parents, but the world-wide publicity it attracted put paid to that. He temporarily left home to avoid his parents' wrath.
Since then, Corey has polarised public opinion.
He has become something of a hero for many young people, with some reports describing him as a Generation Z poster-boy.But other people have criticised him as an arrogant brat. A website inviting people to "slap Corey down the street" has had more than 700,000 hits.
Corey Worthington (born March 21, 1991, and also known as Corey Worthington Delaney and Corey Delaney) is an Australian, best known for holding a large party that was reported worldwide. Worthington hosted a party at his family's house in the Narre Warren area of Melbourne on the night of January 12, 2008 while his parents were away on holiday at the Gold Coast. The party eventually had 500 attendees and there was subsequent vandalism around the neighborhood. Thirty police officers were called in, including a police helicopter and the dog squad. The BBC reported that police were attacked with bottles and stones, and that police blamed alcohol consumption on a lack of adult supervision. After appearances on Australian news programs, such as an A Current Affair interview by Leila McKinnon, Worthington became an internet phenomenon. The Sydney Morning Herald called the interview "farcical", that Worthington "comprehensively steam-rolled" McKinnon and that "Within minutes of going online, McKinnon's tabloid TV tut-tutting had backfired, transforming Corey, who was interviewed shirtless, from naughty schoolboy to international hero."
